Jerry Braden
As you may or may not know, Lisa Robinson lost her dad in January of 2007. Jerry Braden was an incredible father, human and friend. One of the things I respected about him most was his complete support for his daughter’s dream of running a horse business. Anyone you ask will tell you that you can’t make a living doing it. Even Jerry said all the time, “Want to watch your money turn to shit?... Buy a horse.”

Despite the financial burden and odds of success, Jerry encouraged Lisa every minute and as a client and friend, I’m so very thankful that he did. We learn everything from our parents and Lisa wears her heart on her sleeve just like her father.
Lisa’s heart has helped encourage me to beat the odds of my allergies to horses. Today I have my dream of helping children with disabilities with horses through a non profit organization called Camp Camelot www.campcamelot.net. After Jerry’s funeral, I was thinking of different ways to pay tribute to him, his family and Lisa in a way that would make him proud and this is what I came up with.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone at Applecreek, we have been able to purchase an incredible mechanical horse that is changing the lives of people all over the world. It’s called the Equicizer and Camp Camelot has just bought our first of a herd of them. This incredible invention is a great workout tool, it provides a safe environment for people with disabilities to ride, it helps people overcome fear from trauma, and it is used by race tracks in seven countries and was invented by a jockey who used it to recover from a broken leg, Frankie Lovato Jr. See www.equicizer.com.I’ve named Camp Camelot’s first Equicizer “Buzzy”, after my uncle who died of cancer. I had him custom built to look like my dream horse, “Blackie” who Lisa (and Len Shoemaker) rescued and later gave to me. Buzzy’s photo is above and I’ll be boarding him at Applecreek for the next few weeks to raise money for this cause. So take a ride!
Thank you so much to your generosity in contributing to our Equicizer. He is named “Jerry” after Lisa’s dad. Everyone will be able to use the Equicizer. You can get your butt in shape!
Seriously! Can you imagine how an Equicizer in their living room would change their life?
All profit from this sale is being donated to Xenophon Therapeutic Riding center in Orinda, CA. The only NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped) certified center in the east bay to raise money for their own Equicizer. Cost $3,000. Make checks payable to Camp Camelot. Send to Lisa @ 5268 Reedley Way, Castro Valley, CA 94546 or drop in the Applecreek mailbox, inside barn. Put in memo line: “Jerry Tribute”
Thank you,
