At Applecreek Farms we don't just teach you how to ride a horse, but also how to communicate with horses an
d understand their body language. In short, we emphasize "horsemanship." We teach basic skills to people who have never been around horses, and even to those who have been around horses all of their lives.
It is very important to us that you, the rider, determine your own pace. If at
any time you do not feel comfortable doing something, we want to know. We certainly don't want to push you past your ability or comfort level.
Although we do compete and have many different riding and training programs that fit every rider's needs and ability, we don't expect every rider to compete, nor is all of our training centered around competition. We understand that shows and competing are not everyone's cup of tea, nor do we expect all of our students to have their own horses.
Our main goal is to make a horse-lover out of you. Basically, we want you to have fun riding while we teach you how simple, fun and safe riding can be. It's our hope that you'll come away with an appreciation for and a better understanding of our beautiful and majestic equine friends who we love to spend our days with.
